12:14 a.m.

I love Thursdays. I’m not sure why, but I always have. (It’s not because it’s the day before Friday.) I loved Thursdays before I learned I was born on one.

I found out recently that I’m a “B-list celebrity on a shitcom”. Anyone watch “Dirt”? I like the schizophrenic and his cats (of course).

I think that’s all for my random for the day.

12:20 a.m.

I’ve come to a decision about the car issue. Robert and I were going to pick mine up from my parents originally. Assuming issues with transportation and emissions standards, my parents offered to give us money to equal the cars worth instead.

It’s a moot point, because Robert and I can’t reasonably afford a car note. We can afford to increase the debt reduction amount. We’ve been paying one hundred dollars over the minimum payment on the current goal debt. We have a buffer of eight dollars each month. I want to put an extra thirty dollars to debt reduction, making it one hundred thirty dollars a month in addition to the minimum payment on the bill. We’ll pay off our current goal debt three months faster and still have a buffer of fifty dollars.

I think it’s a solid plan, and Robert gets his first check with his next raise at the end of August. We’ll have to re-evaluate the finances due to gas and other factors then, but that’s August. This is still May. (Barely counts.)

My decision is to go through the first semester with one car between us. If it’s too difficult, then we’ll have more money available and might be able to take my parents up on their offer. Until then, I’ll try to schedule one weekday that I won’t need the car. Robert can schedule his work trips for that day if it works out.

12:41 a.m.

I haven’t been crocheting much lately. My current project is basically a copy of something I’ve already made. I just have a lot of leftover yarn in that color.

I don’t have yarn to make what I really want to make, an Autumn blanket or throw for the Master Bedroom. I definitely want brown, orange, red, and yellow. More specifically, I want Red Heart Coffee, Carrot, Claret, and Gold. (I kind of wish it had been another “C” there.) I’m considering using dark green as well, but only in small amounts.

I’m not sure about the pattern. I’m currently considering Granny squares, but I adore double crochet. I just don’t know what pattern I could work with double crochet that isn’t stripes. Autumn doesn’t seem like a stripe season to me. Winter is a stripe season.
