9:11 a.m.

The last two days have been amazing, and it’s all Robert’s fault.

Robert came home from work early on Thursday. We ate lunch at Subway and went to get his allergy shot. We stopped by Wal-Mart to pick up a prescription refill.

We went to Staples and Office Depot to look at computer chairs, since mine is several years old and very, very dead. I found two I love, but we didn’t want to make any rushed purchases.

We also spent time browsing at Ikea. It was so much fun looking at all the room sets they had. At times, I felt like I was walking around in someone else’s house.

We went down the George Washington Parkway on the way home. It’s always beautiful at night, but the beauty has been multiplied by the fireflies. There were thousands of fireflies along the Potomac. We pulled into our favorite parking area to enjoy the scenery, and the way the fireflies were lighting up the trees reminded me of white Christmas lights that blink randomly and slowly. It was magical, so much so that I didn’t want to leave.

Yesterday was even better than Thursday. Robert decided to treat me to a long drive before school starts. I love our long drives; Robert always finds the prettiest places to drive through.

We drove west through the George Washington National Forest and followed with a large portion of Shenandoah National Park.

The mountains (Shenandoah) were covered in fog. We pulled over at several overlooks where the fog was so thick we could barely see past the short stone fences.

It looked like my dreams. There was nothing but trees, stone and fog. The only discernible colors were green, brown, grey, and white. The fog was so thick that I watched it curl around my fingers several times. It’s the closes I’ve ever come to experiencing my dreams when I was awake.

All of yesterday is like a dream to me. I will remember it for a long, long time to come. I even have more material for my meditation now.

10:37 a.m.

Robert and I decided to make today about relaxation and being together. We ate breakfast together, he read while I was writing earlier, and when I work with the laundry, he’s doing the dishes.

We’re watching the last disc of Home Improvement today, and I think we’re going to play some games later, like Scrabble and Monopoly.

For some reason the phrase “eating Bon Bons in our bath robes” keeps coming to mind. I find it quite humorous; we don’t have robes, and I don’t even know what Bon Bons are!
